Dianne Sheridan - Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

From Sandbank Estate Winery in Prince Edward County, this medium bodied Cab/merlot has depth and complexity. The aromas are chocolate, tobacco, leather, pepper and ripe red berries. As it decanted, the flavours became more pronounced. The wine took on nuances of red cherries and oak, while the acidity and tannins became more balanced resulting in a very smooth, medium finish.

Pair this impressive wine with steak or a meat pasta dish.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

This was a little underwhelming, featuring cranberry, cherry and tobacco notes. 87 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Jon Steeves rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A ruby red blend of Cabernet and Merlot varietals from Ontario's famous Prince Edward County. Medium bodied and tart, juicy mouthfeel. This wine opens and flows like a big French kiss. Lively acidity, tart red field berries. Well balanced and integrating 13.5% alc. Pair this wine with cottage time, comfort foods, or a night in with a loved one. Perhaps sneak a kiss or two to confirm the label has it right. tasted Jan 2017. Rated 87/100.
Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Subtle nose of cherries, leather and oak. Light body dominated by pepper and spice on both the palate and the short finish
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Aromas filled with cherry, leather and spice (pepper). I tasted ripe fruit and plenty of spice (anise/licorish) with hints of smoke. Smooth with high tannins. Great wine from PEC. Would pair well with spaghetti or a peppercorn steak.
