Tonight’s Seriously Cool Red from @southbrookvineyards was a fabulous pairing with my “garden” pasta! Mixed linguini with sautéed peppers, onions, garlic, mushrooms and tomatoes, topped with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan! I had to look at the label twice as I was surprised to see it was a 2013!! Aromas of black cherry, beetroot, black pepper and forest floor. On the palate sour cherry and rhubarb. Tannins were still quite grippy with racy acidity to match. This is a blend of 65% Pinot Noir, 25% Gamay, 8% Zweigelt, and 2% Syrah. Medium body with a long fruit and tannic finish. This wine will be drinkable for a few years yet. I think I need a few more bottles to lay down!! #wine #winetasting #winereviews #wineandfood Tasted August 2020

Juicy red blend of 65% Pinot Noir, %25 Gamay, 8% Zweigelt and a touch of Syrah. Crafted by Southbrook’s winemaker, Ann Sperling, dedicated to sustainable winegrowing and winemaking. The blend is bursting with bright red berries and ripe black cherries. Fruit-forward, medium in body and dry with well-balanced acidity and smooth tannins. Closes in a lingering, cedary finish. Food-friendly and crowd-pleasing, perfect for a summer BBQ. Pair with gourmet burgers and sausages. Tasted July 2017. Tania Thomas – www.runawaygrape.com

87/100 with the following review:
This red blend is highly reminiscent of an uncomplex fruit forward Pinot-Gamay Noir blend (not sure on the blend, didn't check). Ripe red berry fruit, black tea and spice note with a long Chai Tea note on the finish. It's light bodied and easy drinking with nicely balanced acidity and tannins (mild). Bright ruby red with garnet hue, declared 12.5% ABV. Tart and tightly structured with a low- medium body. Made with sustainably farmed Ontario Cool climate fruit. Cherry and cassis. Pair with roasted chicken, lamb shank or anything a Pinot noir would go with. Tasted Feb 2017. Rated 87/100. @BespokeTastings

You can taste the Gamay in this fresh and unpretentious red; it also contains Pinot Noir and Zweigelt. Aromas of cherry-strawberry candy, raspberry and smokey spice repeat on the palate, enlivened by quite zippy acidity and veiled tannins. Not bad at all! Try with grilled veggies or pizza.

Very ripe raspberries and blackberries on the nose with a suggestion of barnyard. Medium-bodied dry palate with more ripe berries and a hint of mocha, which opens up nicely after 45 minutes. Decant 1 hour before serving.

Pale ruby in colour, with a restrained, red fruit nose. Light in body and smooth on the palate, with moderately concentrated mixed red berry fruit. Served cool, this is a lively, quaffable red for every day consumption.

Lovely aroma of black cherries and spices. Dry medium-bodied with medium acidity and tannins. Same flavours of black cherry, plus raspberry and candied red apples. Medium finish.
