Matt Steeves rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From the storied Bordeaux legend, Barone Philippe de Rothschild, comes this impressive (Bordeaux) Chilean red blend from Chile's Central Valley. Combining ideal terroir, unparalleled hands-on attention to quality, and world-class winemaking expertise makes this value priced wine a great choice for any big red lover. A blend of 40% Cab Sauv, 2% Cab Franc, 38% Carmenere, and 20% Syrah, to produce a complex red blend that stands out in a sea of single varietal wines. The 2013 is deeply coloured with smoky dark fruit, black berries, black plum, bacon, pepper, and herbal notes. The palate is soft with juicy dark smoky fruit, bacon, bell pepper, and spice on the long finish. Enjoy with braised beef or lamb cooked in herbs sauce, such as Chilean Plateada, or enjoy with bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin. Tasted August 2016. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jane Staples rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A powerful and elegant red from Chile's Maipo Valley. Opaque dark ruby with seductive blackcurrant, blackberry, mocha and spice on the nose. The rich, layered palate gives more dark berry fruit with delicious chocolate, licorice, oak and a hint of smoke. Dry, smooth, balanced structure with mature tannins, offering a lingering smokey dark fruit finish that ends on a delicious mocha note. Wow! This wine offers superb value at $18.95. Look for it in LCBO Vintages in the Sept. 3rd release.
Food pairings: duck breast with cherry glaze, roast lamb, chocolate cake.

Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This vivid red is quite earthy on the nose, but has a full bodied flavour that encompasses berries and currants. With a generous mouthfeel, this red finishes quite smoothly, with lingering distinctive notes of the blended wines.
