Martha Kelly AIWS rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

This outstanding wine from John & Doug Shafer and of the Stags Leap District captivates the senses. Its aromas and flavours are rich with dark berry fruit, cloves, mint, and cinnamon while the smooth, warming palate carries the intense flavours through to the elegant, structured finish.
Enjoy this wine in good company with strong cheeses, beef, duck, or lamb.
Drink now or cellar until 2025 and beyond. This wine will benefit from decanting as the wine will evolve in the decanter and in your glass.
Date tasted: October 2015.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
