Opaque purple with aromas of India ink, mocha, cassis, and black plum. The taste is deep and rich with flavours of black plum and a touch of eucalyptus. The abundant tannins are quite rounded and smooth for a wine in this price range.

Nothing says bbq like a Malbec from Argentina! Dark ruby colour gives you a hint of what's to come - blackberry fruit, leather and spice. This full body wine delivers on tannins and fruit. A long finish with some spicy black pepper notes.

Ripe fruit jumps out at you from this deep purple wine. Liquorice is followed by nice pepper and spice.The oak provide smooth tannins on the palate that continue to the finish.

One of those Malbecs that are more heavily oaked. Pepper, spice, licorice, mocha - take your pick but it's there and lovely. Nice power for the price, not complex but a good value.

Red and black fruit and mocha dominate the nose and palate on this full bodied wine. The fruit flavors really come out on the palate. Good food pairings would include skirt steak or beef burritos.

Escorihuela Gascón 1884 Reservado Estate Grown Malbec 2013, Mendoza, Argentina: Lots of attractive coffee-espresso aromas on the nose of this robust Argentine red wine. Full-bodied, smooth with black fleshy fruit on the palate. The Malbec grapes for this wine are hand-harvested from vineyards planted at the foot of the Andes mountains. The wine is aged for 8 months in oak barrels by winemaker Gustavo Marin. Finishes with black pepper and mocha. Pair with a pepper steak. Drink: 2015-2018. 375444 14% D 750 mL $17.95 Score: 91/100.
