Deborah Podurgiel rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

Viognier can be as finicky as Pinot Noir to work with; terroir and wine mastery have to be pretty perfect to show Viognier's best, but Yalumba has it smack on. Yalumba Viognier 2014 is straight forward excellent with its hallmark, peach, apricot stone fruit and honey-ginger flavours. The wine is full and oily on the palate with well-defined mineral, ripe peach and savoury notes met with a persistent acidity and a long length. Amazing with king crab, but can tackle the richness of Lobster Thermidor.
Mymi Thesingingsommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Located in the Barossa and established in 1849, Yalumba is the oldest family owned wine company in Australia.
Exclusively owned by the Hill-Smith family, even after almost 165 years, they remain fiercely independent and extremely progressive. With success intrinsically linked to the land, they are acutely aware of how their presence impacts the environment and created a sustainable business in which responsible environmental practices are integrated into everyday activities.
An interesting fact about this wine company is that they have their own onsite Cooperage! Operational since the turn of the 20th century, it allows them even greater control over the quality of oak used to age their premium wines.
This 2014 Viognier is spectacular! And it should be since over the past 30 years, Yalumba pioneered the growing and making of this stellar varietal in Australia.
In the glass, it is a beautiful medium intensity yellow color with good legs!
The nose is complex and fragrant with aromas of orange zest, white flower blossoms, almond extract, little melted butter, honey and vanilla.
The mouthfeel is luxurious, creamy and coats the mouth with wonderful flavors of dried apricots, orange blossoms, honey and citrus. Dry with vibrant acidity, it lingers on and on!
Amazing!!!!
Perfect to sip on but will be spectacular with shrimp salad and simply pan fried scallops!
