****1/2 drink or cellar
La Crema Chardonnay 2013
Sonoma Coast $29.95 (962886) 13.5% alcohol
Aromas of charred toasty notes and baking spice morph into a delectable, stream of clean, crisp and refreshing flavour—lemon pie filling and crisp green apple mingle with notions of Asian pear and honeydew melon on the palate. This is full bodied with creamy-smooth mouth feel and a long finish and aftertaste. Pour alongside supermarket rotisserie-roast chicken and oven-baked fries. (Vic Harradine)
Heather Wall rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Always one of my favourite Sonoma Chardonnays. A brilliant medium lemon colour with an intense nose of citrus, tree fruit, toast and toffee. The palate is creamy with medium+ balanced acidity. The nose repeats on the palate with additions of smoke, butter, white blossoms and honey. A gorgeous wine. Sip on it's own or enjoy with an assorted cheese and nut plate, seafood/shellfish, roasted turkey.
Tasted: May 2015
Jane Staples rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Luscious tropical fruit, slight lemon and vanilla on the nose invite you to taste the rich buttery palate as it repeats with ripples of flavour, adding oak and a hint of smoke. Full-bodied with a long buttery tropical finish. Unforgettable.

Natalie's Review

La Crema Chardonnay 2013, Sonoma Coast, California, United States: Sonoma Coast vineyards enjoy a long, cool growing season due to the moderating influence of the Pacific Ocean, and its fogs and winds that blow inland. This is perfect for slowly ripening grapes to develop complex flavours and nuances without lots of sugar that translates to heavy alcohol. Classic Californian Chardonnay with toast, oak and green apple on the nose. Full-bodied, and generously layered. Generous flavours of pear and peach on the palate with a long, dry finish and a hint of wild white flowers in a spring rain. Perfect for roast chicken or mild curries. Drink: 2013-2018. 962886 13.90% D 750 mL  $34.95 Score: 91/100. May 30, 2015 Top Rated White Wine. Perfect Pasta and Tomato Sauce Wine  Full Review
