Matt Steeves, Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Absolutely fantastic Port-style fortified red wine from North America's first Vegan Certified winery, Karlo Estates, located in beautiful Prince Edward County, ON. Made from estate grown Frontenac Noir and Marquette, this is a remarkably well balanced dessert wine that has just the right amount of sweetness, tartness, and delicious dried fruit notes that pairs wonderfully with a wide array of treats from dark chocolate squares to elaborate turtle cheese cakes. This wine has won many awards in its short history (4 vintages to-date), and it's no surprise when you taste the refreshing rich fruit they've packed away in this bottle. If you're planning a visit to the County make sure you stop in to visit their beautiful rustic (circa 1845) barn/tasting room and some Van Alstine Red 'Port'.
Tasted September 2013. 93+points. Matt Steeves, Certified Sommelier, @QuercusVino
