Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

The 2010 Carmen Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon , aged in French oak for 10 months, has intense aromas of prune, oak, light earthiness and vanilla. It is a full-bodied, extra-dry, fruity wine, with forward acidity, chalky mouthfeel, refined tannins and a long, smooth finish. Drink as a sipper; drink now to 2018+. My impression: NICE to BEAUTIFUL, 90 pts – recommended mainly for quality though the value is great. Malcolm Lamont WSET Adv rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This clear wine has a deep ruby colour with slow-moving legs with some colour extraction. On the nose it is clean with medium+ developing aromas of violet, cassis, eucalyptus, blackberry, cedar, peppermint, vanilla and capsicum (green pepper).

It is dry with medium+ acidity, tannins, alcohol, and body. It has a medium+ flavour intensity of cassis, cedar, violet, vanilla, cloves and black pepper.

This wine has silky tannins, and potential for ageing.

Carmen Wines Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Maipo Valley, Chile: Better than ever, and still priced remarkably low for the quality. Full-bodied, supple and juicy with luscious aromas and flavours of fleshy black plum, mocha and a touch of mint. Beautifully structured and balanced. Drink: 2012-2016. 358309 14.30% D 750 mL  $16.95 Score: 90/100. June 22, 2012 Best Beef Wine  Full Review
