Montes Alpha Syrah 2009, Colchagua Valley, Chile: Vintages Wine Panel: The 2009 vintage of Montes Alpha Syrah has not been reviewed, but the 2005 through 2008 vintages all received scores of 90 or more on Robert Parker Jr.’s site. Look for attractive aromas and flavours of blackberry, woodsmoke, pepper, blueberry and mineral. Dry and impactful, with solid tannins that will permit 1-2 years cellaring. Will also provide pleasure tonight. My note: Wrap this wine around me and never let me go. Plush black plums with some smoke and mocha-dark chocolate. Endlessly delicious.
