Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From a tough vintage! The 2021 season started off cold and wet with poor fruit set and was also the driving factor for a low vintage year with some yields down 20-30% from average. In a mixed blessing, July and August was super hot and dry which did allow the harvest to catch up a bit, but the smoke from stateside wildfires drifted north to the region and at one point shrouded the vineyards with up to 134 hours of consistent smoke cover. Not only did that mean potential smoke taint, but also a loss in photosynthetic capacity for the vines. Then, the first frost was recorded in some colder areas on Oct. 16 with a significant snowfall on Oct. 23, although the vineyards closest to Okanagan Lake escaped both events and by this time the harvest was mostly done.

So, the result of the winery’s 2021 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc vintage is a fragrant SB with tropical fruits, guava being foremost, dried fine herbs, Meyer lemon zest with well-integrated toasted oak spice flavours rounded and fresh on the palate. Tasted April 2023.

The wine was 100% barrel-fermented and aged seven months in new and neutral (15%/85%) French oak barrels with weekly lees stirring on both batches. Tasted April 2023.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
