The Carneros cool climate shows through in the mouth-watering acidity, while this full-bodied Californian white wine finishes with aromas of tree fruit, citrus and vanilla smoke. Pair this Chardonnay with roasted chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: lobster in butter sauce, beef bourguignon, breads, cheese, poultry.

Reviews and Ratings

Brenda rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This cool climate chardonnay from the Carneros region of California refutes the notion of ABC ( anything but chardonnay), a movement started in the 80s against over-oaked and excessively heavy chardonnay. In this rich full bodied wine, layers of apple, stone, and citrus fruit are balanced by refreshing acidity and attractive, well integrated, vanilla oak. Touches of minerality also support the lively fresh fruit flavours. This nicely integrated and elegant wine delivers on flavour and value.

Pair with shellfish ( especially lobster or crab with butter), creamy pasta dishes, roasted chicken, pork, and soft rich, smoky or cheddar cheeses.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep lemon colour with a spicy signature to the nose. Tree fruit, smoke, butter and floral with good acidity to balance. Nice lingering length with nuts and honey finish. Very nice cool climate California Chardonnay. #i4c15
Pair with shellfish, grilled scallops in butter, roasted poultry
Tasted: May 2015
This winery ferments part of the wine oak barrels, the other in stainless steel tanks to create richness and mouth-filling texture while preserving the purity and vibrancy of the fruit. Finishes with notes of pineapple and smoke. - Community Wine Reviews
