|Valerie Stride WSET ADV rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:|
A simple and satisfying white wine coming out of northern Italy in the DOC of Soave (pronounced SO-ah-VAY). Pale lemon in colour, this youthful wine is comprised of mainly Garganega, with a splash of Verdicchio (aka Trebbiano di Soave). As Italian whites tend not to be complex, most white wines show minimal characteristics. This Bolla product does, however, provide peach skin, lemon juice, and a distinct minerality coming from the limestone soils that coat many parts of the northern regions. On the palate, green pear and tart apple balance well with the almond finish. Looking for food to go with that wine? Vegetable antipasto, risotto, or seafood chowder are your best bets.
