Westcott Estate 2022 Chardonnay is produced from sustainably grown grapes sourced from the Niagara Escarpment wine region. Dry and medium-bodied, grapes for this Burgundian-style Chardonnay were hand-harvested, whole-bunch pressed and wild-fermented. The wine was barrel-aged for 10 months in French oak barrels (10% new). Fresh and fragrant with golden apple, butterscotch, toasty oak spice and a kiss of vanilla to round out this lovely, elegant and complex Chardonnay, chill and enjoy it through 2029 with pan-fried scallops in beurre noisette or a baguette slathered with rich, creamy brie.

Chardonnay food pairings: Asian dishes with black bean, steamed Mahi Mahi, pasta with tomato sauce, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Beautifully flavourful and balanced Chardonnay from the Niagara Escarpment. Aromas of golden apple and ripe pear, with hints of honey, warm spices and a touch of oak. Medium+ bodied, smooth on the palate with medium+ acidity. Fruit flavours are crisp and fresh, with tart, yet ripe apple spiced with oak and warm apple pie spices. Enjoy with pan seared scallops or other shellfish.
