Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Brick red in the glass. Smokey violets and lilac waft up in the glass. Floral notes do not carry to the palate. Medium bodied with tannins still very much in play. Serve with Italian meat and ragu. Tasted April 2019.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Rustic styling of this Nebbiolo-based wine, displaying sour cherry, violet, and some spice and herb. Firm tannins and vibrant acidity with a generous body of 13.5% ABV. Becoming accessible in its fourth year of life, though still demanding protein or additional cellar time. Serve with osso bucco, pastas with strong tomato or truffle sauces, or old and strong cheeses.
Umberto Fiore 2015 is a bright, medium-bodied Barbaresco produced from 100% Barbera wine grapes. Tart cherry and light herbs on the palate, pair with aged hard cheeses. This winery is located in the heart of the Langhe designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
