Reviews and Ratings

The Winery of Good Hope's Pinotage from Coastal Region is a vibrant, medium-bodied red wine offering notes of black cherry, wild berries, sweet spice and crushed stone. This dry wine displays less tannic structure and bright minerality thanks to the winemaker's full berry fermentation technique. Serve it at room temperature with grilled beef burgers as the wine's cherry fruit complements the charred meat, or pair it with roasted root vegetable medley where the wine's spice enhances the caramelized flavors. Winemaker Raoul Holst crafts this contemporary-style Pinotage from two distinct sites: northern Stellenbosch with sandy, decomposed quartz and granite soils, and Voor Paardeberg's weathered granite terroir, destemming but not crushing the grapes before spontaneous wild fermentation in stainless steel. The Winery of Good Hope is committed to showcasing South Africa's indigenous Pinotage grape with elegance and drinkability, moving away from the heavily extracted styles of the past. This food-friendly Pinotage represents excellent value and will drink beautifully through 2029. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
