A spectacular Californian Cabernet vintage after vintage. Beautifully structured and elegant with a long finish. This is royal Californian Cabernet. Layers of black fruit and toasty oak. Needs serious cellar time then decant 2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled rare steaks, blackened ribs with BBQ sauce, coq au vin, Cornish game hen, tomato tarte.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A food-friendly Cabernet Sauvignon that has purple hues and has a floral bouquet of mostly violets on the nose, as well as juicy aromas of plums and blackberries and subtle hints of oak. On the palate, the tannins are structured and there are flavours of dark berries, dark chocolate and espresso. It has a nice long finish.

Tasted November 2017
Yes it is expensive, but Silver Oak (2012) Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley is a classic with beautiful bones, elegant with ripe black fruit liqueur, cake spice, dark chocolate and spicy underbrush. The Cab Sauv is actually a red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec and a great sum of its parts. Drink now or hold in cellar for 10 years. Pair with a rare standing rib roast. - Community Wine Reviews
