Reviews and Ratings

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Plum, vanilla, smoke and spice, with the smoke dominating the aroma and the vanilla the taste. Decent tannins offset the fruit-forward nature.
Connie reviewed this wine as follows:

We liked it. We drank it with steak.
For our 2011 Malbec, we co-fermented the Malbec grapes on Petite Syrah skins to integrate the distinct floral aromas of Malbec with the excellent tannic structure of Petite Syrah. We took great care to drain and press the wine at the optimal time to extract vivid colors and flavours without retaining any astringency. A portion of the blend received oak contact to add complex layers of vanilla and sweet aromatics. We added Petite Syrah to the Malbec early on, allowing the components of the blend to integrate seamlessly over time. As we approached bottling, we added Cabernet Sauvignon to the blend, giving this Malbec excellent structure and depth in the mid-palate.
