Reviews and Ratings

Ravasqueira Coutada Velha Signature Rosé from Alentejo is a bright, medium-bodied dry pink wine blending Portuguese and international grape varieties, drawn from the sun-drenched vineyards of the 3,000-hectare Monte da Ravasqueira estate in Arraiolos, where the vast, ochre-toned Alentejo landscape and the estate's carefully studied soils deliver wines of genuine warmth and regional character. It opens with an inviting nose of ripe watermelon, dried hibiscus, and a whisper of fresh thyme, with a juicy, approachable palate of crushed red plum, citrus peel, and a subtle earthy warmth from the region's terroir, finishing clean and refreshingly dry. Serve it well chilled and enjoy it in its vibrant youth through 2028. Chief winemaker David Baverstock, an Australian who spent 30 celebrated years crafting wines at Esporão before joining Ravasqueira, brings a uniquely cross-hemispheric perspective to these Alentejo wines, combining new world precision with a deep reverence for Portuguese varieties. Fascinatingly, Monte da Ravasqueira began not as a winery but as a legendary stud farm for the Lusitano horse in 1943, and it was only in 1998 that the first vines were planted on the estate, with the Coutada Velha label taking its name from an ancient private hunting ground on the property that has preserved its rich biodiversity for generations. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
