A full-bodied Portuguese red wine with blackberry liqueur aromas on the nose and palate. Supple with layers of black hedonism. Pair with prime rib.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Portuguese blend of Aragonez, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet garnered 90 Points from Wine Enthusiast. Price point gets reward from me at $16. Juicy black fruit, cherry syrup, floral and baking spices combine in a medium+ body red wine. The tannins are polishing and acidity is medium+. A long cherry cola finish. A very nice wine indeed. Pair with braised lamb, finer cuts of red meat.

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Dark fruits, cola, tar, and black liquorice. Lovely wine. Refreshing acidity, nice soft tannins, beautiful fruit on the palate. 89 points. Tasted March 2015. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

A blend of Aragonez, Syrah and Alicante Bouchet. The nose has aromas of fresh red cherries, vanilla and cloves, The palate shows bright cherry, cassis, oak, vanilla and cloves. Dry with a lingering red fruit finish.
The robust Portuguese red wine is a blend of Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Aragonez grapes. Concentrated, intense, rich and deep on flavour. Could use cellar time. - Community Wine Reviews
