Reviews and Ratings

Alana L rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Do you also find yourself being mesmerized by some labels? Cue this stunning Christina Wines Gruner Veltliner unfiltered.

I could tell you that it’s organic and natural, dry with balanced crisp and just slightly fizzy acidity, a bit of minerality, a touch cloudy as its unfined and unfiltered with a medium body and that the fruit stays on for a lovely finish. I could mention the notes of apple, peaches and white pepper on the nose and palate.

I could write about how Christina Netzl took over the family’s vineyards, in a climate cooled by the chilled winds of the nearby Danube river in Carnuntum east of Vienna in Lower Austria, when she returned home after her oenology and wine management studies in the U.K., converting them to organic viticulture and viniculture practices; or that the ripe grapes are whole bunch fermented spontaneously in steel over the winter and racked once in the spring to remove the lees before being bottled with as little sulfur as possible.

I could tell you that I bought this wine at the amazing, delicious and delightful La Belle Tonki in Montreal where I offset my natural and organic wine with what is, in my humble opinion, Montreal’s best poutine: the Kimcheesy with kimchi, spicy sweet & sour sauce and crispy popcorn tofu.

But I won’t. I’m simply going to sit here and swoon over this colorful, happy and uplifting label, covered with the prettiest drawings of all of the cute little critters that she lets hang out in her vineyards.

Cheers all ! (avaialble through PI with Ward & Associates)

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
