Narrative Red 2022, Okanagan Valley, Canada is a vibrant, approachable red blend made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc that highlights classic Okanagan Valley character. It opens with aromas of red cherry, raspberry and plum with a distinctive herbal note. The palate is medium-bodied, dry and smooth, showing juicy red fruit, soft tannins and balanced acidity that lead to an easy-drinking, food-friendly finish at about 13% alcohol. Fascinating fact: This wine is part of Okanagan Crush Pad’s Narrative series, which focuses on minimal-intervention winemaking and organic fruit to showcase the diversity of the Okanagan Valley’s terroir and natural vineyard expression. Serve it slightly below room temperature.

Red food pairings: spicy soy-glazed pork, barbecued chicken thighs, roasted root vegetables, beef and mushroom stir-fry.

Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Okanagan Crush Pad should be calling this spot-on, beautifully balanced Merlot and Cabernet Franc (2022) red wine blend ‘Seriously Addictive Narrative Red’. Smooth, fresh, food-friendly and extremely moreish, it hits all the check boxes with bright red fruit, fresh red cherry, plum and a delicate touch of pink florals and dried find herbs. In fact, this is a red wine style that I have personally been searching for because it sits right in the middle between heavier winter whites and lush, full-bodied, gritty reds; it is dry, medium-bodied, refined, soft and rounded with smooth tannins and a ‘come-hither and sip more’ lingering finish. Grapes for this vintage were sourced from vineyards in the Naramata and Oliver wine regions, British Columbia. Tasted November 2025.
