A juicy, smooth New Zealand red wine, with pleasingly tart and vibrant cherry aromas and flavours in this pinot noir. Supple and medium- to almost full-bodied. Very tasty. Mouth-watering acidity is fantastic for a range of dishes, from planked salmon to roast chicken. The Pinot Noir wine grapes for this New Zealand, South Island Pinot Noir from Seresin Estate wee hand-picked. The vineyard is bio-grow certified and Momo is made using organic and biodynamic winemaking practices. Momo translates to "Offspring" in the native Maori language.

Pinot Noir food pairings: grilled lamb chops, mushroom risotto, planked salmon, frittata, coq au vin.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Pale ruby colour, an elegant bouquet of raspberry, strawberries, cherry coke and smokey forest. Flavours consist of tart cherry, anise, cinnamon, wet leaves, compost and thyme. High acidity, light body and finish with all kinds of spicy, fruity notes at the end. It’s light - yes complex enough to pair with Blue Brie cheese. 89 points tasted January 2018
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Soft and inviting. Well made. Very juicy and new world. Not only is it 100% organic, biodynamic and a songle designated origin wine (Marlborough), which is becoming more scarce; it is also apparently a single vineyard wine. This one is sourced from the Seresin Estate.
Pretty and pale, with some darker hues from the oak.
Big aromatics of rose, tea, red berries, and some slight underbrush.
Pleasant mouthfeel. Lots of red fruit on this one because of its Marlborough origins. It is a bit high on alcohol. It changes the nature of the fruit. Less fresh and almost on the edge of candified. Good for those who find old wprld Pinots a bit unapproachable. Nevertheless dominated by licorice, red berry, cocoa, and cherry candy on the finish.
Though Momo is a Maori expression, it is not hard for us North Americans to conflate it with the M.O.M.A., in New York. It's not a stretch to call New Zealand viticulture modern art. Deliciously cool climate in style. Put it with some smoked salmon and washed rind cheese.
