Mission Hill Family Estate Reserve Meritage offers concentrated aromas of cassis, smoke and cedar. It's dry and full-bodied with a polished texture. Serve it at room temperature with herb-crusted prime rib where the wine's intensity complements the savory crust while its supple tannins balance the meat's richness, or cellar it through 2034. Chief winemaker Taylor Whelan crafts this wine at the family-owned estate founded in 1981 by Anthony von Mandl, who transformed a near-bankrupt winery into Canada's only six-time Winery of the Year. In 1994, Mission Hill became the first Okanagan winery to win Best Chardonnay at the prestigious International Wine and Spirit Competition, putting Canadian wine on the global stage. This versatile blend also pairs beautifully with aged cheddar and walnut biscuits, where the wine's dark fruit echoes the cheese's nutty depth while its lively acidity cuts through the richness.

Meritage food pairings: grilled red meat, roast pork, hard cheeses.
