Yes this is a wine named for JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, which was filmed in beautiful New Zealand (and has since generated an estimated $100 million extra revenue in tourism as a result). Middle-Earth Vineyards was established originally more than half a century ago as a dairy farm. In 1996, the owners converted to grape farming and launched their first wine in 2012. Pair this lime-zesty SB with fresh seafood. One wine to rule them all, one wine to watch JRR Tolkien's trilogy! Grassy but not too herbal, just enough to get you to Mordor. Pour Gandolph a second glass and listen to his wisdom. It will require that you leave the Shire. Produced by Winelord Ltd. (not Sauron), you don't have to travel to the ends of the earth to find a good value New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc .

New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from Nelson, in the south. It is considerably smaller than New Zealand's other regions, but also sees plenty of sunshine; more than any other region in New Zealand. It makes it a popular tourist location, since there are plenty of beaches and cultural excursions.
Pale greenish-yellow.
Lots of citrusy charm to this wine. Lemon juice, lime, and chalky notes on the nose.
The palate is crisp and refreshing. Guava, passionfruit, and more lemoniness. It is less herbaceous than other New Zealand Sauv Blanc.
Pair this with lightly done sesame tuna and light cheeses.
