Joseph Cattin Gewurztraminer from Alsace A.O.C. is a medium-dry, medium-bodied white of aromatic generosity and classic Alsatian character, crafted from sustainably farmed Gewurztraminer on clay and limestone soils in the foothills of the Vosges Mountains near Colmar, with a richly expressive nose of fresh lychee, Turkish rose water, candied orange peel, warm cardamom and a whisper of honeyed stone fruit that gives way to a silky, lushly textured palate with a long, spiced finish that lingers beautifully. Winemaker Jacques Cattin Junior, a trained agronomist and engineer who represents the remarkable 12th generation of the Cattin family in Voegtlinshoffen, oversees an estate that has been growing vines without interruption since 1720, making it one of the oldest continuously operating family wine estates in all of Alsace. A fascinating piece of the family's history is that when the devastating phylloxera plague swept through Alsatian vineyards in the late 19th century, ancestor Joseph Cattin became one of the region's pioneering experts in vine grafting to combat the disease, while his brother Théodore simultaneously promoted the family wines to Parisian high society through his acclaimed restaurant La Cigogne. This wine took Gold at the Concours Général de Paris 2025. Serve it well chilled alongside pork tenderloin topped with an unsweetened apricot chutney, where the wine's floral depth and spiced richness mirror the sweet-savory interplay of the dish beautifully; it is equally at home with curried rice fragrant with cinnamon and cloves, the wine's cardamom and rose notes weaving through every spiced forkful. Enjoy through 2030.

Gewurztraminer food pairings: ham, pork tenderloin topped with unsweetened apricot chutney, curried rice with cloves, cinnamon and cardamom, pork schnitzels.
