Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

The new release of Fort Berens Estate Winery’s Riesling (2021) is elegant, refined and inviting on the nose with aromas of fresh pear, lychee, apple compote, lemon-lime pie, dried pineapple with a mineral vein from beginning to end. On the palate, the wine is youthful, just dry, medium-bodied with eye-winking acidity and tangy medium-plus intensity flavours of green apple crunch, fresh pear, white pepper, lemon and grapefruit zest, dried pineapple and a wickedly long mouth-watering finish. A very versatile food-friendly Riesling to pair with smoked trout on baguette, cheese fondue, fish tacos or a grilled pork tenderloin which is what we poured it with. While acidity on this fresh wine is quite exuberant, this born, bred and raised in B.C. Riesling is going to be amazing once it starts to calm down. Buy it by the case. Drink or hold. Tasted May 2022.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
