Featherstone 2022 Pinot Grigio is a great value, vegan-friendly PG at $18. Grapes were sourced from the Niagara Peninsula wine region. Slightly golden in the glass, the wine is bright with ripe apple, pear, melon, peach, fine herb flavours finishing with a citrus zest bite. Very refreshing. Produced in stainless-steel tanks with half of the grapes pressed immediately into tank with the balance of the grapes left to soak on its skins. An interesting and elegant PG.

Pinot Grigio food pairings: grilled pork tenderloin, chicken, Caesar salad topped with fresh steamed, chilled shrimp.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

When late June rolls around, I reach for summer-time styled wines from Ontario when I can. Do you do this, too? Well, I draw your attention to this Pinot Grigio from Featherstone.

If I have my facts right, they craft this vegan friendly PG every year. Hooray. I’ll watch out for future vintages.

The one in my hand is from 2022 vintage. This wine is mouth watering, however, it feels pleasingly lush in the mouth in a light bodied way. This tactile one two combination is lovely, especially on hot days. This PG tastes delicious.

I’m drawn to the scent of this wine. It strikes me as fresh and fragrantly perfumed with teases of juicy melon and peach, white floral blooms, citrus zest, and crunchy yellow apple. It is cheerful and smile inducing.

If appellation awareness is your thing, this creation is classified as Ontario VQA Niagara Peninsula, the largest planted area of all viticultural areas in Canada according to appellation authority. It is home to 105 wineries.

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Love this bright and fresh Pinot Grigio which transports me to a beach at sunset. Aromas of melon, peach, and yellow apple with a touch of green herbs. Light on the palate with bright acidity, fresh rounded citrus and tropical fruit, and a touch of herbs and spice on the finish. Enjoy with any seafood on the grill.
