South African golf pro Ernie Els earned the nickname The Big Easy for his effortless swing and manor on the golf course. This savoury, juicy, lip-smacking red is dried herbs, spice and wild blackberry on the nose and palate. The Big Easy is a full-bodied South African red blend of 60% Shiraz, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Grenache, 3% Mourvèdre, 5% Viognier and 7% Cinsault grapes. Lots of flavour here! A core of spicy, wild blackberry. Pair with a pepper steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Juicy blueberry and strawberry aromas as well as violet, dark chocolate, black pepper and a certain meaty quality.

The fruit follows through on the palate with ripe blueberry and strawberry flavours. The tannins are velvety and the flavours linger through espresso undertones.

Ernie Els Big Easy 2016 is a well-priced, full-bodied 60% Shiraz, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cinsault, 5% Grenache, 5% Viognier and 3% Mourvèdre red wine blend from South Africa's Western Cape wine region. Very savoury with vibrant, ripe raspberry, sour cherry, dried herb flavours and a smattering of savoury spice on the finish. Ernie is Easy to enjoy with pulled pork sammies. - Community Wine Reviews
