Domaine de Terres Blanches Sancerre from the Loire Valley is a pristine, elegant white wine revealing notes of Meyer lemon, white blossom, and chalky minerality with subtle hints of fresh herbs. It's bone-dry and medium-bodied with vibrant, mouthwatering acidity that extends through to a long, clean finish. Serve it well chilled with pan-seared halibut in beurre blanc as the wine's bright acidity and mineral character will complement the delicate sauce beautifully, or pair it with a warm goat cheese tart where the wine's crisp, stony notes will balance the creamy cheese. Brothers Arnaud and Laurent Saget, who joined their father Jean-Louis in 2010, craft this wine with consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt at the family's 15-hectare estate in Bué-en-Sancerre, a property their father acquired in 1998 recognizing its exceptional potential. The estate sits on Kimmeridgian limestone soils rich with fossilized oyster shells from an ancient sea, and the domain has been transitioning to organic agriculture to preserve the integrity of these precious "terres blanches" (white soils) that give the wine its distinctive mineral expression. This wine drinks beautifully now or can be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.
