Very silky, sexy satin smooth French red wine blend of Mourvèdre, Syrah and Grenache grapes. Full-bodied yet as supple as pinot noir. Liquid seduction in a glass. Pair with proposals of the most blunt kind and duck confit.

Food pairings: cassoulet, pork ribs, slow-braised beef brisket.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Full bodied and complex with a bold earthiness, wild herbs and tart raspberry on the nose - the palate reveals complex layers of tobacco, dark fruit and cocao. Divine.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Impressive, suave, and high quality wine from Corbieres, in the south of France.
This one is composed of Mourvedre, Syrah, and Grenache.
This wine has a nicely developing colour of burnished garnet. Some bricking.
The aromas give away a lot of Syrah amd Mourvedre perfuminess. Burning incense, humidor, cocoa, macerated blackberry, plum sauce, and black olive. Very exotic!
The flavours are not too much. It is neither huge, nor too intense on alcohol or extraction. The oak remains supportive and not dominant. There is a lot of plump red and black fruit: damson, blackberry, fig, and olive. Chocolate and kitchen spices and an earthy finish.
What a classy example of the style. Drink in the next 3 years for maximum enjoyment (before all of the fresh fruit dissipate).
Put this one with pork belly and roasted root vegetables.
Domaine De La Cendrillon No 1 (2012) from the Corbières wine region is earthy, dark chocolate notes, tobacco and black olive. Great potential on this robust red. - Community Wine Reviews
