This is vibrant, zesty white wine blends the best of Old World Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc with the vibrancy of New World New Zealand: lime and mineral, cut grass and a hint of gooseberry. Fresh and dry with a crisp, refreshing finish. A balanced and refreshing sauvignon blanc that’s not overly herbal or oaked. A lovely balanced approach with tasty notes of lime, green apple and chives. Try it with shellfish.

Sancerre food pairings: grilled prawns, poached salmon, roasted herbed chicken, goat cheese-stuffed roasted red peppers.

Reviews and Ratings

Tania Thomas - CSW, WSET ADV rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

An elegant and richly textured Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre’s rolling limestone hills. Fresh and lively with brazing acidity and layered aromas and flavours of ripe gooseberries, lemon drops, quince and flinty-smoke. Following the “rule” that the regional pairing is always the best pairing, try it with region’s world-famous goat cheese Crottin de Chavignol. Sancerre is also super versatile and would make a worthy match to grilled fish, seafood and soft, pungent cheeses. Tasted March 2017. Tania Thomas – www.runawaygrape.com
Cora Beaulieu rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A classic and a fine Sancerre, with aromas of green apple, citrus fruit, and mild herbs. The body is light/medium and is missing depth and intensity. The palate offers a lovely concentration of tart green apple and tropical fruit flavors. With pleasantly firm acids and good mineral character. This wine shows a delicate and surprising medium length finish of lime, apple, and nectarines. Serve with white fish, oysters, goat’s milk cheeses and lighter foods flavored with fresh herbs. [Tasted March/2017]
Domaine Bonnard (2015) from the Loire wine region is a vibrant, zesty Sancerre with lime zest, fresh cut grass and gooseberry flavours. This Sauvignon Blanc white is like old world meets new world Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is fresh, crisp with a lively acidity and a flinty finish. Pair with oysters. - Community Wine Reviews
