One of my favourite great value wines year after year. This bold beauty bursts with black plums, blackberries, pepper and a hint of mint. Layers of flavour to roll over your tongue. Oh yes!

Reviews and Ratings

Peter rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

I am a big fan of wines from Mclaren Vale, Australia. They reflect the wonderful people and rich culture there, a place where they say the "Vine meets the Sea" and locals say “It's a secret you don't want anyone to know about sometimes...”

I can say that this Rhone Valley style blend is a perfect representation of a rich, soft yet flavorsome red that is expected from the McLaren Vale style. It has interesting flavors of plum and I think I would say Mulberry from the Grenache and Mourvèdre that are deepened with the blackberry, spice and white pepper of the Shiraz.

Great match for steak, lamb, pork, grilled or done in an asian style.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Floral and raspberry aromas give way to wonderfully layered flavors of plum, blackberry and blueberry. The Shiraz offers a touch of pepper.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Blackberry, black raspberry and violets dominate the nose, moving through to a core of blueberry, minerals, and toasty oak on the palate. Smooth finish, great with food. Drink now through 2014. 89 Points. (ottawawinejournal.com)
