Armas de Guerra Godello from Bierzo D.O.P., Spain is a crisp, dry, and light-bodied white made from 100% Godello, sourced from vines between 45 and 65 years old grown on clay and slate soils at elevations between 450 and 600 metres. Fermented in stainless steel and given three months on fine lees, the wine delivers an aromatic, textured nose of white tea blossom, candied citrus peel, ripe mirabelle plum, and a cool sliver of wet slate minerality. Precise and refreshing on the palate with a tensile acidity and a clean, lingering finish, it is best served well chilled and can be enjoyed through 2028. The wine is produced by Vinos Guerra, one of the oldest wineries in Bierzo, founded in 1879 by visionary pharmacist Antonio Guerra, who recognised the potential of Bierzo's vineyards long before the region received its official Designation of Origin status in 1989. Notably, the estate controls roughly one third of all vineyard land in the entire Bierzo appellation, an extraordinary landholding that gives it unrivalled access to the region's finest fruit, and the wine earned a commendable medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2025.

Godello food pairings: Garlic butter prawns with crusty bread, pan-seared trout with almonds and lemon, grilled halloumi with roasted cherry tomatoes and fresh herbs.
