Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This delightful blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Viognier delivers smokiness on the nose with hints of white flowers and minerality. The palate is round and smooth with mineral undertones and a pleasant texture. Volcanic soils, small barrel and concrete treatments all add complexity to the final product. And, the secret weapon may be that Francois Lurton, in his constant quest to find ways to add complexity, confesses to adding a small percentage (3-5%) of orange wine to his blends. It all pays off in an enticing pour with an impressive finish in both length and flavour. Enjoy with roast chicken or calamari. Tasted 30 April 2026. (thewineloverskitchen.com)

Natalie's Review

Domaine De Nizas Mazet De Nizas Blanc 2023, Languedoc Roussillon, France: Domaine de Nizas Mazet de Nizas Blanc 2023 is a fresh and elegant white from the Languedoc, expressing the region's capacity for producing whites of genuine character and finesse. The nose is clean and aromatic, with white peach, lemon zest, subtle floral notes, and a gentle herbal quality that reflects the garrigue-laden landscape of the estate. On the palate it is light to medium bodied with lively acidity, a smooth and supple texture, and a crisp, mineral-edged finish that lingers pleasantly. It is a versatile, approachable white that balances the warmth of the Mediterranean climate with a refreshing, food-friendly brightness. Fascinating fact: The Languedoc is one of France's oldest wine regions, with evidence of viticulture dating back to the 6th century BC when Greek settlers first planted vines along the Mediterranean coast near present-day Agde, well before the Romans arrived. This wine is best enjoyed chilled at 9 to 11°C in a standard white wine glass, where its delicate aromatics and crisp acidity can be fully appreciated. 12% D 750 mL  $12.00.
