Melanie Lloyd rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Made from a blend of Xinomavro, Krassato, and Stavroto and aged a minimum of twelve months in oak barrels, this Greek wine has aromas of black cherry and plum with cinnamon, leather, sweet tobacco, cedar, floral notes, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, and black pepper.

Tart cherry and plum flavours follow through on the palate along with cinnamon, smoke and a cocoa finish. It is medium-bodied with velvety tannins and vibrant acidity.

Tasted February 2019.

WINE-FOOD PAIRING: This would pair well with pork chops, spicy sausage, or with meat lasagna.

Natalie's Review

Tsantali Reserve Rapsani 2014, Rapsani, Thessalia P.D.O., Greece: Tsantali Reserve 2014 is a rustic and tannic red blend of Xinomavro, Krassato and Stavroto wine grapes from the vineyards of Rapsani (which sits at 600 metres above sea level) The wine is aged in French oak for one year. Rapsani is one of the four PDO regions in Greece featuring Xinomavro. Look for spicy berry, plum fruit and vanilla flavours on the palate. Pair with lamb burgers. There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
