Both perfumed and meaty, this carignan straddles old world and modern stylings. Showing lovely purity, restraint of use of oak and the richness of old vine carignan. Very good length with some notable but not unexpected heat. Tasted May 2018.

Monique Sosa rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Ripe black and red berry aromas followed by intense black licorice and a long red plum flavoured finish. Enjoy this juicy, moderately tannic, medium+ bodied French Carignan with herb-encrusted roasted pork tenderloin. Tasted Sep 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted Oct 31st, 2017. Colour dark red, thick legs. Aromas and flavours of black cherry, cranberry, strawberry, sandalwood and smoke. Taste dry, fruity, hot, mouthwatering with medium tannin. Finish with heat and black licorice. Looking for a high alcohol experience, with fruit this is it. Try pairing as a Thanksgiving wine ( wine folly).
I would pair it with a fat pork and beef burger. I would try this grape variety again.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Blackberry, mocha and spice on the nose, the palate is full bodied and smooth with lots of complexity - notes of dark fruit, chocolate, mint and black pepper. Lingering spicy dark fruit finish.

Natalie's Review

Lafage Tessellae Carignan 2015, Cotes Catalanes, Southwest I.G.P., France: A blockbuster big southern French red wine that's what I call a palate-wacker. Juicy and full-bodied x 10. Very supple and smooth. Lots of fleshy blackberry aromas and flavours. Great value, quality and taste for the price. Pair with pork tenderloin. Drink: 2017-2020. 343509 14.50% D 750 mL  $18.95 Score: 90/100. November 24, 2018 Best Value Red Wine. Glorious Game Wine  Full Review
