The 2011 Jackson Triggs Le Clos Jordanne Village Reserve Pinot Noir was fermented using natural yeast; this is a first vintage from winemaker Sebastian Jacquey. The wine has lifted aromas of green underbrush, rosehip, pomegranate, old wood, faint clove and light spiciness. It is a light to medium bodied; extra-dry, fruity wine; with forward acidity, tight tannins and a medium finish. This wine is both food friendly and a sipper; it will benefit from further aging for the tannins and acidity to come together – drink 2017 – 2022. My impression: NICE, 89 pts. Tasted Mar/14 at Cuvée en Route http://grapeselections.com/cuvee-2014/

This Burgundy-inspired pinot is ruby/garnet with beautiful ripe cherry aromas. A crisp acidity and flavours of dark, lush fruit this pinot noir ranks up there with some of the best in Ontario. A perfect food wine that I paired simply with burgers or equally good on its own. Delicious!

Le Clos Jordanne Village Reserve Pinot Noir 2011, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: The 2011 vintage was difficult yet Le Clos Jordanne and this Pinot Noir from the Village Reserve vineyard tends to be a bit sour and tart.
