Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

If you love your chardonnay buttery like freshly baked buttered scones, this is your wine. Fantastic price for fantastic quality. $21.95. Grilled pineapple, fresh mango with a citrus twist, while oaky it’s not cloying. From Santa Lucia Highlands, a cool climate little pocket in Monterey County. Pair with linguine with fresh scallops and lemon beurre blanc. @wrightwineblog
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Huge and intense oak influence showcasing toast, vanilla, baking spice, cinnamon, clove, and butter. Fear not, there is some fruit too as citrus, poached pear, and peach poke through the barrel tones and make their presence known. Spicy and creamy on the palate with pleasing acidity. Highly typical of California Chardonnay, though thankfully not too overboard with oak and alcohol. Pretty good value too. A nice match for grilled shrimp, seared scallops, and roast chicken dishes.
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A full-bodied, oaked Chardonnay from Monterey, California, this wine presents tropical fruit and oak on the aroma, with spice on the palate. The oak is evident throughout and leads to a soft finish. Pair with poultry or pork.
Z. Alexander Brown Uncaged 2017 Chardonnay is fresh with white peach, orange blossom, honey and baking spice aromas on the nose. Full-bodied, rich and creamy on the palate with ripe stone fruit, vanilla and toasty oak spice. Wine grapes are sourced from cool climate Santa Lucia Highlands. Wine grapes were de-stemmed and pressed into French, American oak barrels or stainless steel tanks. Pair with grilled seafood dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
