This is a blend of 65% Grenache and the remainder equal parts Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes. Black cherry liqueur on the nose and palate of this blockbuster southern French red wine blend. Plush black plum aromas give this wine a luscious mouth-filling character and juiciness before peppered darker fruit creates a lovely bite. Full-bodied and voluptuous. Drink now if you decant for 2 hours or hold it in your cellar for a decade or more. Incredible richness, depth and concentration. Demands hearty meat dishes. Loaded with purple and black plums and liquorice on the finish.

Châteauneuf-Du-Pape food pairings: prime rib, wild game, cherry and wine-reduction sauces.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

Rich, fragrant, satiny and supple, this gorgeous Rhone red is a shining example of French winemaking. Made from a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah, in a region where the first vines were planted by the ancient Romans. It gives lush layers of red and dark fruit with dried herbal touches together with juicy acidity and fine balance throughout. Elegant to the last drop- a fantastic gift wine! Will age well, up to 2024. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
