Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Winemaker's Cut Bohemian Rouge is their flagship red where only the finest wine from the best barrels make this Winemaker's Cut! 2019 Bohemian Rouge is a blend of 40% Merlot, 30% Cab Sauv, 20% Cab Franc, and 10% Petit Verdot, all co-fermented and aged in neutral barrels to preserve the complex fruit characteristics, showcasing the delicious fruit sourced from Deadman Lake Vineyard & Chahal Vineyard. Black cherry, black currant, sweet spices, black sage, and graphite on the nose. Medium bodied with fine integrated tannins and a savoury peppery finish, the freshness in this wine highlights its great balance and food-friendly nature making it a wonderful wine to enjoy over the next couple years with a wide range of dishes from grilled salmon, gourmet burgers, Wagyu steak, and charcuterie. Tasted June 2021. 91 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Beautiful blend of 40% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Petit Verdot, co-fermented and aged in Slovakian, American, and French oak. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry and plum, with hints of cedar, warm baking spices, leather, and graphite. Full bodied, smooth on the palate with bright acidity, and soft, smooth tannins on the palate. Fruit notes on the palate are rich and rounded but balanced nicely by that lovely acidity and a peppery finish. Enjoy with any grilled meats, from sausages to steak.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
