Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Hidden Corner is that small and special place in the vineyard producing the best wines reserved solely for the winemaker, family and special friends. However, Hidden Corner is hidden no more and VinAmité has made the 2016 vintage available to the public (only 137 cases were made). In honour of old-world winemaking tradition where private-release wines are bottled without labels, only the emboss of the winery’s name is on the label. This deep ruby wine blend of 60% Merlot, 27% Malbec and 13% Cabernet Franc is rich and full-bodied. There is some bricking at the meniscus and the first swirl gives a nose of green olives, tomato sauce, roasted red pepper and dried candied cherries. The wine is dry, full and smooth on the mid-palate with mouthcoating ripe red cherries, red berry fruit, light dried herbs and soft vanilla flavours. Tannins are velvety and the wine finishes long with ripe cherries and a zesty acidity. Great balance on this wine – try it with duck mousse Armagnac pate and French baguette. Simply excellent.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
