Vina Tarapaca Gran Reserva is a great value Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley. Savoury with ripe black plums, dark spices and tobacco leaf flavours on the palate, pair this full-bodied earthy Cab with smoky barbequed ribs.

Gwen Barton rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Well structured, good value wine from Maipo Valley. Noticeable aromas of raspberry, cherry, and tobacco with some earthiness. Soft and flavourful with strawberry, red cherry, liquorice and ripe plum coming through on the palate. Black pepper and more dark ripe fruit on the finish. Elegant tannins and very nicely balanced for a young Cab Sauv. Pair with beef tenderloin or mushroom flan.
From the Maipo Valley wine region, Viña Tarapacá 2005 is a Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon with ripe, fresh red cherry, red plum, mint, dark chocolate and earthy underbrush flavours on the palate. Tannins are well-integrated and this elegant medium-plus-bodied red has mouth-watering acidity for food. Pair with a grilled hangar steak. - Community Wine Reviews
