Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico food pairings: aged cheese, herbed lamb stew with raisins, lasagna, venison, beef daube.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby garnet colour with luscious aromas and flavours of cherry, dried fruit, fig, leather, tar, toast, floral, dried herbs and sweet spices. The medium+ acidity is cleansing and welcomed by the palate. This smooth full-bodied wine asks you for finer cuts of beef or salty hard cheeses please. Lovely! Cellar worthy.
Tasted: May 2015
This remarkable Italian red wine is produced by Giancarlo Tommasi who is a member of the Tommasi family, much respected in the Veneto wine region. Lots of dark fruit flavours on the finish. - Community Wine Reviews
