Natalie's Score: 88/100

This robust red wine from southwestern Ontario (Essex County) is made from the Cabernet Franc grape which excels in cool climates like this one. Intriguing old leather and dried herb aromas and flavours like mature Rioja on this Ontario red wine from Essex. Lots of acidity. Pair with lamb and rosemary.

Cabernet Franc food pairings: Brazilian slow-cooked pork, roast turkey, beef and black bean stew, shepherd's pie.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dried cherry, leather and slight herbaceousness on the nose with flavors of smoke, sour raspberry and cherry, plum - lengthy finish. Great value.
Viewpointe V (2010 ) is a Cabernet Franc from the Lake Erie North Shore wine region in Ontario. The Cab Franc is robust with raspberry, dried herbs, smoke and pepper spice on the palate. Decant for one hour prior to serving. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
