Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

A rich, fullbodied Vintage Port that would make an excellent addition to your wine cellar. Inky opaque garnet with aromas of blueberry jam, fig compote, currants and graphite. Layer upon layer of concentrated flavours - raisinated fruit, dark currant, fig, licorice, fennel, dark chocolate and smokey oak- balanced seamlessly with silky tannins and a satiny mouthfeel. Long candied fruit finish. Grapes were harvested from old vines averaging 40 years and this Port was made with the traditional method of foot-trodden grapes in stone lagares(tanks). 2015 was considered the best year of the decade for Port grapes and harvest happened during ideal conditions.
A fabulous gift for a wine lover! An exquisite pairing for creamy Gorgonzola cheese or macadamia nuts.

Quinta Vale D. Maria Vintage (2015) Port is a perfect dessert size port to enjoy with dark chocolate and blue-veined cheeses. Lots of dark berry, liquorice and creamy dark chocolate on the palate -- could be dessert itself! - Community Wine Reviews
