Urbanihof 4U Gruner Veltliner is a bright, precise, and refreshingly easy-drinking expression of Austria's most beloved white grape, grown on the loess and alluvial terraces of the Wagram DAC along the left bank of the Danube in Lower Austria. The nose is delicate and inviting, with aromas of fresh lime zest, ripe nectarine, a hint of white grapefruit, and the signature gentle white pepper and fresh herb savouriness that marks well-grown Gruner Veltliner from this region. On the palate it is light-to-medium-bodied, bone dry, and crisply structured, with lively acidity, a silky texture, and a clean, mineral-edged finish that makes it a natural companion at the table. Serve it well chilled and enjoy through 2030. Winemakers Franz and Sonja Paschinger, who run Urbanihof as its 11th generation family custodians, oversee 24.5 hectares of certified organic vineyards that have been cultivated naturally for years using composting, green manuring, and the encouragement of beneficial insects rather than mechanical intervention. The estate's history stretches back an extraordinary 400 years, and Urbanihof holds the distinction of being a founding member of the prestigious Wagramer Selektion winegrowers' association, underscoring its long-standing commitment to quality in the region.

Grüner Veltliner food pairings: pan-seared trout with lemon butter and capers, asparagus and goat cheese tart, chicken schnitzel with cucumber salad and dill.
