Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Take any opportunity to drink Marsanne - trust me. The viognier is a bonus. Hope Family Cellars are the associated company for this brand, as well as Liberty School, Candor, Troublemaker, and Hope Family Wines. They base themselves out of Paso Robles, but source from across California for their unique blends. This Rhone-ish blend combines the supple and generous Marsanne with lean and serious Viognier.
Deep yellow with orange hues. The aromas are dominated by the Viognier, at this stage of the wine's life. Lots of florality - lily and honeysuckle. White pepper (white heat), guava, lemon rind, chamomile, peach, yellow plum, and fruit cocktail.
The flavours are pretty heavy on the palate. The alcohol is quite high (14.5% or maybe higher...), but the fruit carry it well. Passionfruit, super ripe pear, pie apple, peach juice, honey, and tangerine.
A lovely wine to have on a picnic. Potato chips, cucumber sandwich, and deviled eggs would be a lovely match.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
