Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Township 7 Benchmark Series 2019 Riesling is bright, medium lemon in the glass with super fresh aromas of white florals, binned apple, petrol, vanilla, coconut, dried pineapple and white pepper. On the palate, it is dry, medium-bodied with racy acidity and medium-plus-intensity flavours of bright apple, Meyer lemon, lime zest, notes of flint and finishing mouth-wateringly long. Drink or hold to 2028. The winery suggests pouring it with grilled oysters and a citrus vinaigrette. We did and it was a perfect match for this wine!

Grapes for the 2019 Benchmark Series Riesling were sourced from a single vineyard, from the Fool’s Gold Estate in North Oliver, which is owned by Mark Antonello, a well-known vineyard manager. The vineyard was planted over 20 years ago by his father-in-law and renown Okanagan viticulturist, Richard Cleave. The western slope enjoys abundant sunshine and is made up of sandy clay loam soils with rock and gravel providing excellent drainage for the vines. Grapes were carefully pressed and cold settled prior to a long and cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks and neutral French oak barrels, retaining the fresh acidity and fruit flavours in the wine as well as giving it a rounded mouthfeel. Tasted August 2022.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
