The 2015 vintage of Toasted Head Cabernet Sauvignon offers savoury, mouth-watering flavours of blackberry and black plum with bacon and spice. Layers of pleasure. pair with rare meats. This winery is so named for the toasting of the tops and bottoms or heads of the oak barrels this wine has aged in.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Rich medium ruby colour with bursting red berry fruit notes. Grilled strawberry, cherry, blackcurrant, fresh bay leaves with smoky vanilla beans and roasted red peppers in this fragrant bouquet. Flavours are pronounced, featuring; grilled cherries, smoked meat, dark chocolate and an espresso finish. Leafy and earthy elements also present. Medium plus acidity, Full robust tannins and a velvety finish with stewed berry and spearmint sweetness at the end. An excellent match for grilled strip steak and duck. Perhaps even a tomahawk style ribsteak done caveman style in the fire to match those charred notes. 89 points - tasted January 2018
